The cartoon star's lead role in The Simpsons Movie saw him win the public vote, beating big names including Robin Williams' Mrs Doubtfire.
The character, voiced by Dan Castellaneta, was also named most embarrassing dad, funniest film dad and best role model dad in Empire Cinemas' Fathers In Film Awards which were opened to a vote of more than 2,000 film fans.
Jack Nicholson's performance in The Shining earned him the prize for scariest film dad, seeing off the challenge of Star Wars villain Darth Vader and Al Pacino's mafia boss Michael Corleone from the Godfather trilogy.
Jon Nutton, Marketing Director of Empire Cinemas, said: "We wanted to create the Fathers In Film Awards to give Empire Cinemas and the nation the chance to say a big thank-you for the hours of joy that screen dads have given us over the years.
"These awards have shown that Homer's not just a figure of fun, he's a dedicated dad and family man with a caring side reserved for his children that makes him a deserving Empire Cinemas FIF Awards winner."
