Michael Kenneth Williams is in talks to play Joel Kinnaman's partner in the remake of action film RoboCop.

The star of Boardwalk Empire and The Wire will join The Killing's Joel, who will star as police officer Alex Murphy, who is brought back to life as part man, part machine following mortal injuries.
Michael will play Murphy's partner, who is close to his family, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Jose Padilha is directing the remake, which already has Hugh Laurie signed up to play the lead villain, Gary Oldman on board as the scientist who creates RoboCop and Samuel L Jackson playing charismatic TV mogul Pat Novak.
Abbie Cornish has been cast as RoboCop's wife and Jackie Earle Haley is reportedly set to play Maddox, the man who trains him.
Production on the film is due to begin in September for a release in summer 2013.
