Uh-oh! There's a big row brewing over Rio Ferdinand's omission from the Euro 2012 England squad, despite Gary Cahill becoming yet another victim of the injury curse currently stalking Roy Hodgson's plans.

Many thought the bad news for Cahill would mean a belated call-up for Rio, but Hodgson has gone for yet another Liverpool player instead - youngster Martin Kelly.

Rio's initial reaction on Twitter was the cryptic ' What reasons?????!!!', but his representative has now gone much further.

Says TeamTalk.com: 'Ferdinand's representative and long-standing friend Jamie Moralee said: "Lampard, Terry, Barry, Gerrard; all ageing but they go to the tournament. Why is Rio different? To treat a player that has captained and served his country 81 times (in this manner) is nothing short of disgraceful. Total lack of respect from Hodgson and the FA as far as I am concerned"'

Twitter users however seem less sure:

Nour Agha (@NourAgha)

'Rio Ferdinand's representative has to get his facts right before he calls it a disgrace against the FA and Roy Hodgson'

Jack (@jwswam)

'Rio Ferdinand's acting like a spoilt little kid'

Pete (@Pete2482)

'Rio Ferdinand's 'advisor' releasing such an inflammatory statement 6 days before start of Euro's says a lot about Ferdinand. Good riddance.'

Mark Batham (@markbatham)

'Wow. The comments made by Rio Ferdinand’s representatives are nothing short of pathetic. You weren’t picked, have some humility'
