No striker... and a sweeper?

So, to start with, Italy are fielding what appears to be a sweeper in the form of Daniele De Rossi.

That’s soooo 20th century.

And in response, Spain have gone with no striker whatsoever – the formation of the future?

To quote @themichaelowen,

‘Unbelievable line up for Spain. No striker playing. This could end up looking like a training ground game of possession.’

As it happens we’re at half-time and there’s no breakthrough from either team, although I sense this game has a goal or two in it in the second half.

And with Mario Balotelli on a yellow card, I think the chances of a sending off are worth a bit of a punt.
