Phelps confesses, we do pee in the pool
It’s the news we’ve been dreading, but deep down we all knew it was going on.
Michael Phelps, the most decorated Olympian of all time, used the occasion of his retirement to announce that Olympic swimmers do occasionally relieve themselves in the pool.
The star swimmer said, ‘I think everybody pees in the pool. It’s kind of a normal thing to do for swimmers. When we’re in the water for two hours, we don’t really get out to pee. Chlorine kills it so it’s not bad.’
The confession comes hot on the heels of a similar admission from Ryan Lochte who said that he peed in London’s Olympic pool during a warm up.
Inspiring a generation? In this instance, we hope that’s not the case.
