Punters still win big on Federer

Federer, the world No 1, was just favourite to beat former No 1 Novak Djokovic, who has slightly gone off the boil since winning the Australian Open in January. Smart punters would have won little backing Federer to win, but what they would have won big money on was Federer winning a set 6-0.

SkyBet were offering 250-1 on Federer claiming a 'bagel' set - 6-0 - and the Swiss genius duly obliged by winning the first set with three breaks of serve in just 20 brilliant minutes.

It was Federer's 76th title and the odds on him winning another US Open are plummeting - so the way to make money is to back him winning

sets 6-0 apparently.

When he beat Lleyton Hewitt in the 2004 title Federer won 2 sets 6-0.
