Stephen Fry has admitted feeling sheepish after being branded boring on Twitter
TV presenter Stephen Fry has admitted feeling "more sheepish than a sheep" after a row broke out when a fellow user on the micro-blog website Twitter branded him "boring".
The actor and writer - who has more than 900,000 followers on the social networking site - threatened to quit but later appeared to change his mind.
He wrote: "Arrived in LA feeling very foolish. Wasn't the fault of the fellow who called me "boring", BTW. A mood thing. Sunshine will help. So sorry."
His problems started when another tweeter said he "admired and adored" Fry but found his tweets "a bit... boring... (sorry Stephen)".
Fry replied: "You've convinced me. I'm obviously not good enough. I retire from Twitter henceforward. Bye everyone."
Later his critic pleaded for "this whole sorry saga to go the way of the dodo" and the QI host posted another tweet agreeing with him.
He wrote: "You bet. Thank you for being so understanding. I feel more sheepish than a sheep and more t***ish than a t***."
Fry - who is one of the most high profile users of twitter - suffers from bipolar disorder, also known as manic depression.
Other tweeters sent him messages of support after his outburst.
